Dentist was rude and arrogant and kept talking over me when I was trying to answer his questions. He took one look at my medical issues and disability and said I needed permission for an infected tooth pull. Which means I need to take ten extra steps I don't have for a simple, infected tooth extraction that I have been trying to get done for a week now with no help and no openings at actual dental practices.

Couldn't even get an appointment because I was discriminated against on the phone... I was told they don't do medical clearance throught PCPs (they 100% do... but only if you aren't transgender). My legal information was asked for, and when I was clocked as trans they demanded to know what surgery I'm getting. Then they told me they don't do gender affirming care. I didn't ask for gender affirming care, I asked for a basic medical clearance for anesthesia.

Posting from my music accountβ€” whoops. But man, I don’t know what happened in the last year but this place has greatly improved. Yes, I have to wait awhile like any other appointment, but it’s worth it for the care that I receive from people like Katherine Catherwood and Marian Thompson. I feel heard and they don’t rush me. They truly listen.

Got there at 7am and stood in line in the freezing cold and waited for the doors to open at 745am knowing its 1st come 1st serve basis and only take 8 dental emergency patients for the day and I luckily got the last clipboard for the day #8 til some older Asian woman was literally trying to snatch the clipboard from my hand that the receptionist gave to me and I told this woman that she wasn't there before me and this was my clipboard and I needed to get an infected tooth pulled out been dealing with pain since October and couldn't get into my regular dentist til end of February so it was my 2nd time at Syracuse community health center got antibiotics and pain meds 1st time came back 6 days later and got seen πŸ˜€ IF u need emergency help get there early enough to be seen stand in line at the old building and hopefully ur seen like i said they take 8 patients a day so be prepared to get there by at least 630am if u need emergency dental care if not be prepared to not be seen or come back another day it's ben 1 day mouth is sore and jaw but starting to feel better and I TY SCHC for my relief πŸ˜€ 😊

Maybe if the CEO didn't pay himself over 300k a year they could afford to have a person to answer the phone. They're a "non profit" that takes our taxes and uses it to line the pockets of the board of directors instead of having a working phone line. Apparently the hack is to spam 0 and they'll eventually be forced to pick up instead of sending you to a voicemail they have no intention of ever returning. though I haven't tried this hack because I've given up with them.
